Get Your Body Back After You’ve Had A Baby

Abby Ayoola

My secret to getting your body back post-partum.

I had my baby 4th baby in Oct 2016 and within a week, strictly following the tips below, I had snapped back like nothing happened to me. my small waist snapped back ASAP. It was then that people seriously began asking me what my secret was, and how I managed to get my body back. I know on a normal circumstance It's not easy getting your body back after giving birth; a lot of mothers know exactly what I mean, and this is something many soon-to-be mothers fear a lot. The fear of not been  able to lose the weight gained during pregnancy. Although I am a mother of 4 beautiful children, I find it very important to still maintain who i want to be in terms of my life, work and yes, little things as how I look and feel. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you have to give up on yourself.

Below are my tips on healthily maintaining my figure after child birth.

First tip: Lemon water mixed with 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar.

I drink this mixture throughout the day and I also try to drink as much water as I can a day. Sometimes 1L, sometimes 2L but this depends what my physical activity level is for that day.

Second tip: My waist trainer.

I wear my waist trainer from the moment I wake up and take it off right before bedtime. I know some people might say "oh it messes up your organs"  but that is really a misguided judgement. If that really was the case, i wouldn't have been able to successfully give birth to my 4th beautiful child. I have been waist training since 2013, so this I can tell you from my 6 years of experience... wearing a waist trainer for that long will not mess up your organs.

Third tip: Digestive Enzymes

i take digestive enzymes everyday to help me digest my food properly and to help my body assimilate nutrients from my food so my body can gain access to the nutrients and it also helps me with my bowel movements.

Fourth tip: I eat a bunch of fruits for breakfast especially bananas, papaya, pineapples etc.

Fifth tip: I eat mostly a vegan diet. If you feel like you can eat just fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds then I suggest whenever you eat meat, you eat it with salad so the enzymes in the salad can help you digest the meat, fish, egg etc. Lay off dairy products also. I go more into details in my book waist less about food combining and why it’s important to eat protein with vegetables and not with starch.

Sixth tip: I don’t  drink alcohol and I don't smoke at all. If you do drink alcohol or smoke, I would just recommend minimizing however much of it you consume by half, and then slowly reducing it. This would be the best option to increase your health and minimize or remove completely, addictive side effects.

I only have one body so my goal is to make it last for the rest of my life.

Seventh tip: Exercise. I train with my significant other, Wayne from BuffBoy Fitness when my schedule allows me to. Exercise doesn't have to be an extreme thing every morning and night. Even a walk every morning is the beginning to a healthier body or you can also work out at home.

Eighth/Final tip: Get rid of whatever and whoever may be stressing you out. Life is too short so it is very important to live it to the fullest.

Remember it's never too late to change your life around.
